Each applicant is also required to complete an information document and sit an interview. The goal is to select candidates with a good beginning gardening knowledge and the skills and commitment to contribute to the functioning of the group as a whole.

Master Gardeners in Training

An individual joins the group as a Master Gardener in Training (MGiT) and is expected to spend up to 3 years building horticultural knowledge. During that time each MGiT is expected to participate in training/studying and to complete the required volunteer hours.

There are three educational routes for Master Gardeners in Training. Go to Educational information here.
