MG Commitment

Each Master Gardener makes a commitment to give at least 20 hours of gardening advice and 10 hours of administration time to the local group each year. Advice activities may include

talks on gardening topics
working at or hosting seminars
answering questions at booths at malls
giving horticultural advice at garden tours and home shows
writing newspaper articles
appearing on T.V. and radio.

Attending monthly meetings and keeping a record of all volunteer hours are two of the administrative jobs of Master Gardeners. In addition, attendance at meetings, research to prepare a talk or article, and participation in the administration of the group are non-advice hours.

Each member is required to submit a record of volunteer hours yearly.
